" Stretch Pose
Here are the important points of this pose:
1. Front leg alignment. This is the most important and difficult aspect of the stretch pose!
Even if you get the legs aligned, most often you can see the outline of the other foot (like Dogz).
You should try to eliminate this as well as extra leg showing from the one behind.
2. Eyes. Only one eye should be showing (or as close as possible) This is probably the equivalent
to the eyelid equalness in a Standard Pose. It's tough to have both this as well as the front
leg alignment, and the more horizontal the cat is, the more likely you'll see only one eye.
3. Back feet and tail. These should be as straight as possible. This isn't very hard and
shouldn't be rated as highly as the other two aspects of the pose. The legs should be
very stretched, so should the tail.
Sitting Pose
Here are the important points of this pose:
1. One eye showing. Again, this can be difficult and the cat has to be completely horizontal.
Even in the best cases you may still have an outline of the other eyeball.
2. Horizontal. The cat should be straight and at a perfect angle to the camera. If his face
or bum is pointed towards the camera, you need to move him around and point him to the left or right.
3. Tail. The tail is a matter of opinion, and could either be judged by how nice the curve is
or how straight it is. Sorta like Standard poses, some judges prefer a curve while others want a straight tail.
4. Crossed feet. Not too important since your Meezer should do this automatically.
It just shows the cat was not in the middle of sitting down or standing up.
Standard Pose
By request! How to get your Meezers to do Standard pose!
1. Love Potion
The first method, the most commonly used, is the Love Potion. Spray your Meezers to
make them spin around, and then pose. The trick is to make sure your Meezer lands in
a horizontal position, to line up its feet. The only problem with the Love Potion is that your
Meezer will get "scared" eyelids. This can be considered a fault by judges, although not always,
if the eyelids are perfectly even.
2. Out of the Door Method
The second method to make your Meezers pose in Standard position is the Out of the Door
Method (for lack of a better name!) When you take out any Catz, they will follow The Hand
(also known as the cursor) until they reach it in order to greet you. Sometimes when Catz
reach the hand, they will do a spontaneous show pose, with perfect even eyelids. The trick
is to make sure that when your Meezer reaches the Hand, it is horizontal enough to create
the perfect show pose. Here's a short guide:
1. Take out your Meezer and "lead" it around with the Hand. You will have to be quick, and lead
him/her in the correct direction. This may take practice. (Sometimes they will walk calmly
out the door, this is great for catching poses. If they sprint out and go way past the Hand,
just try again.)
2. Don't let your Meezer reach the hand until he/she is horizontal! All good Standard poses
are horizontal. You don't want your Meezer to face the wrong way.
3. Be prepared to whack the space bar should your kitty pose!
The problem is, they won't pose every time. You need to keep leading them with the Hand
until they decide out of their own will to pose. Once they do, you'll have a perfect opportunity
to snap a show photo! "
